I was a active research team member for this project at Rice during 2007-2009 and contributed in succinate production process by performing optimization and fine tuning of fermentation parameters using laboratory scale bioreactor, strain improvement and construction of various plasmids for the desired expression of target gene to achieve improved succinate titer and maximum theoretical yield of 1.6 – 1.7 mol succinate/mol glucose.
